# Frontier Marketing — Definition

## Definition

Frontier Marketing is the strategic discipline of building today for the marketing environment that is coming next.

Today, that means preparing organisations for the 2030 marketing environment, where discovery, interpretation, comparison and recommendation are increasingly mediated by AI systems and agents. The 2030 horizon is the discipline's current focus, not part of its permanent definition.

## Expanded definition

Frontier Marketing combines resilient strategy, resilient value propositions, entity design, retrievability, agentic ecosystems, compounding go-to-market systems and continuous frontier exploration.

It treats marketing as a strategic capability rather than a set of channel tactics. Tactics are expected to be replaced; the discipline concerns what must remain stable underneath them — a direction worth holding, a differentiator that survives contact with the future, a presence that machines can find, understand and distinguish, and an operating capacity that accumulates.

## Who developed this Frontier Marketing framework?

The Frontier Marketing framework documented on frontiermarketing.org is developed by Jordi Marca, a marketing strategist and founder of Gotoclient (https://gotoclient.com/).

The phrase "frontier marketing" has been used in other contexts by other people and organisations, including in discussions of emerging or frontier markets. This site documents one specific framework and makes no claim of ownership or priority over the phrase itself.
